Word of the Day for Monday February 14, 2005

inamorata \in-am-uh-RAH-tuh\, noun:
A woman whom one is in love with; a mistress.

Inamorata comes from Italian innamorata, feminine of
innamorato, from the past participle of innamorare, "to
inspire with love," from in- (from Latin) + amore, "love"
(from Latin amor, from amare, "to love"). A man with whom one
is in love is an inamorato.

And with that being said I give you this:

Inamorato:

Unmentionable things lie
In golden eyes
While innocence flourishes in a smile
An irresistible aura
Dominates a room

Akin to a moth
Drawn to his flame
Skin alight when he says my name
A once hardened heart
Softened with one look

A life and love
More than ordinary
Burning, consuming
Wonderful fire
Burn my soul

A friendship blossoming
Laughter found
In two hearts
Wild and torn
Yet still connected

Unable to resist his golden eyes
His innocent smile
A wicked game we'll play
Forever lost
To my golden eyed bird of prey
