"Who's proper fucked now?"-Snatch

Thank you urbandictionary.com.

Fucked over:

<British Slang>
A term used to describe an unfortunate situation which is usually the result of one or more persons taking advantage of another. Under normal circumstances the person does not know that they have been 'Fucked over' until it is too late.

Being 'Fucked over' does not normally relate to physical violence/assault; it is more suited to describing a feeling of betrayal experienced when one realises that someone you once trusted has been deceiving you for their personal gain. Also see pulled a fast one.

Also: what happened to Jen this afternoon.......

I went in to the glorious Ihop today to begin my shift, only to find that I have been taken off the schedule. Permanently. Last week Thursday I had a walkout, and I could have sworn up and down that I'd told Devina right after it happened. Turns out I didn't, so I apologised and owned up to my mistake. Mohammed told me to talk to Devina, Devina talked to Mohammed, and he said to not put me back on the schedule. Ever. There aren't enough words in the English language to describe how pissed off I am about this. I didn't recieve any kind of documentation, no write-up, no verbal warning, no nothin.

I called corporate when I got home, told them what happened.  The woman I talked to told me the status of my employment was "ultimately up to the store owner", after taking my information and my account of what happened she sent a detailed message to the store owner.  This leaves me with an interesting problem, if by some small miracle my complaint goes anywhere and they offer me my job back, do I take it? I do need a job for the next six months, and that location is terribly convienient, howver am I truly willing to go through the bullshit that Ihop puts every one of its employees through?

My sister has offered to take me down to the Expo Centre, because they need people for the winter, and I'm working on the assumption that as a Sportservice employee I'd be a shoe-in.  I do know that the Denny's on South 27th is hiring, as is the Denny's near Mayfair. Perhaps I could wait tables there. The great job hunt will begin soon.......

Current Mood: frustratedwtf do people suck so much?

Wow, that does really suck. But maybe you should look at this like a blessing and not a curse. It was like that with Tumbleweed. I was terribly unhappy, but was staying for all the wrong reasons. Only when the managers finally forced me out did I realize what a great thing it was to not be there anymore.

So I say if they do offer you your job back, which I highly doubt they will (no offense), I wouldn't go back. You really don't need all that mess, especially with a serving job. You could easily find another restaurant which will treat their employees better than IHOP.

It doesn't hurt to put in another application at Super Video, this time with my name on the reference part of it, either. I know they go through people like crazy and having my name on there says wonders. I already got two people hired there that have been there for a good amount of time. See what it can do for you.

Good luck, hun. Let's get together again sometime.
