Well, it's been a while hasn't it?

Nick is still in California, he seems to be enjoying what he does. I miss him like crazy.

John and I are officially moved into the house, he likes it a lot. I don't completely hate it.

Work has been going great, my hours are picking up and I've been having fun again.

I spent Sofi's first birthday with her in Milwaukee. I can't believe how big she's gotten. She doesn't look like she's grown much since May, but man, she's almost walking now. Konnor was an absolute riot as always, his cousins Matthew and Legend drove me berserker. I spent the bulk of my afternoon with the kids running around the backyard watching them play with lightsabers, building sand castles, swinging on the swingset and pretending to be Mothra, Godzilla and a dragon. It was fucking amazing.

While I was in Milwaukee I got to hang out with Crocostimpy Superbleeder. We watched the Hitchhiker's movie, he played some Soul Calibur IV, we had pizza. He picked me up from the Greyhound station in his new beautiful blue Mitsubishi Lancer. It's a lovely car, but I'm still fond of the Pimpmobile.  I was so happy to see him, I've missed him so much. I gave him a book of the Gospel of the Flying Spaghetti Monster as a birthday gift, he loved it. I was pleased.

I also got to have lunch with the fabulous childofscandal . I hadn't seen her in two years or so, and it was almost like nothing had changed. We had lunch at Mo's and talked about our boy drama, Britney's comeback, Lindsey's trainwreck, and so much more. She was absolutely amazing, and when I come back to Milwaukee I have to call her. I don't think I've ever laughed as much as I did that day.

Later that day I had coffee with kosherspam , it had also been two years since I had seen him. It was kind of awkward and first, but then our conversation and friendship seemed to slip back into place. We too talked about our boy drama, the state of the world and more random shit. I really have missed him, and I can't let it be another two years between visits.

I got to see Mario a couple of times. That was fanfuckingtastic. I love him.

Went to Ren Faire with Jay, spent most of the day hanging around the sparring arena, but it was a relaxed and groovy time. I met a few new people, got to see random_birth and onikoneko which was also fanfuckingtasic. onikoneko 's green body paint has stained my pink tank top, and I'm expecting a tall gangly beautiful catgirl to explode from my chest in a week.

Jay and I did movies and karaoke after Ren Faire, and that was pretty fun. I got to huggle my Mario again. We watched Office Space and the Simpsons Movie, Office Space is amazing, and the Simpsons movie wasn't as awful as I thought it would be. I think a Simpsons movie would have been better ten years ago, but this one wasn't completely awful.

I didn't get to see Trent or Ken on this last trip home. I'll catch them in October, I miss them to pieces. I don't think Ken's forgiven me, but I simply didn't have the time.

I did get to see my Grampa on my last day in Milwaukee. We had a family picnic, and it was fantastic. Neither my sister nor I were molested. Woot. Grampa was awake and alert most of the day, but he started to poop out in the middle of the afternoon, so we laid him down for a nap and the party wound down. I was so happy to see my family.

I've been walking alot this past week. I've lost four pounds just from walking to and from work. Walking three miles seems bad in theory, but in practice it's kind of enjoyable. I think I'll do it more before winter comes. Maybe do it when it isn't completely awful during the winter.

I've got Mon-Fri this week, and I'm insanely worn out. I've been leaving the house around 6:30am to get to work at 8:00am four days in a row. I don't remember being this worn out after ten day homestands at the ballpark. Except Opening Day and a Cubs series.  I think it's the getting up at ass o'clock in the morning, and working eight hour days. The money will make it worthwhile.

I've got all but eight of my books in a five shelf bookcase, but I had to make the top a sixth shelf just so I could fit my Rowling-Waterson on the last shelf. I counted them too, I have 146 books, most of which I've read. Instead of having my John Lennon books scattered throughout the bookcase I have them all together under L, then alphebtised by author: Coleman, Kane, Lennon (Cynthia), Lennon (John) and Ono. Think that's a bit too geeky? I just realised I have more than 146 books, and certainly more that are Beatles or Lennon related, but they're still at my mum's.

Two more random tidbits before I sign off on this post:

I've lost four pounds due to all the walking this week, I know weigh 200lbs.

I have a new respect for Rick Rubin.

Done now.
