Jen [userpic]

As usual, I am posting poetry. Surprisingly enough, what I'm posting today isn't mine. The first poem was written by my best friend John Lehman, I posted the first to verses a month or so ago, si here is the complete version.

I had a dream of blood and rain
The velvet tears fall from your eyes
A crystal fountain sadness strained
As crimson rain falls from the skies

The clouds they bleed their love for you
The greedy ground it drinks it up
And blood red flowers in the fields
Catch the blood in reddened cups

And I would like to see
A shooting star reflected in your eyes
With the power of your smile
A thousand suns will rise

And there’ll be light
I’ll look at you and not go blind
And at the sight
An angel fall from the sky

To seek heaven in your arms
Keep you safe from harm and pain
And falls the rain
Dark falls the Rain

This next one is by my favourite poet, Edgar Allen Poe. This is actually my favourite poem of all time, it seems to fit me sometimes. It's called Alone.

From childhood's hour I have not been
As others were-I have not seen
As others saw-I could not bring
My passions from a common spring.
From the same source I have not taken
My sorrow; I could not awaken
My heart to joy at the same tone;
And all I lov'd, I lov'd alone.
Then-in my childhood-in the dawn
Of a most stormy life-was drawn
From ev'ry depth of good and ill
The mystery which binds me still:
From the torrent, or the fountain,
From the red cliff of the mountain,
From rge sun that 'round me me roll'd
In its autumn tint of gold-
From the lightning in the sky
As it pass'd me flying by-
From the thunder and the storm,
And the cloud that took the form
(When the rest of Heaven was blue)
Of a demon in my view.
